General outline
The life science today, represented by human genome project, is turning into the science uniting multidiscipline fields, Transdisciplinary Life Science, which associates with enormous information and variety of fields of sciences. This course provides opportunities to study life phenomena from multidirectional views in transdisciplinary fields of science to aim training talented students with necessary up-to-date skills.

In both education and research, our field is very wide and that include molecular basis for structure, function and networking of functional biomolecules based on genome information, expression and transduction of bioinformation molecules, regulation mechanism of motility and morphogenesis in cell level and tissue level, and also biomaterial science based on physics and chemistry such as macromolecular gels, and more.

Based on the solid backgrounds of physics, chemistry and biology, this course provides higher research skills pursuing an essence of life with fresh insights and broad, deep knowledge as well as application skills for life science to play an active role in various fields in the society. Thus, we assume that the entrants finished basic natural sciences such as biology, chemistry, physics or mathematics at undergraduate level.

To develop leading excellent human resources with unique ideas based on solid knowledge of related science fields, we set advanced programs in the frontier fields of life science in which it has so far been difficult to provide adequate education. In addition, we provide systematic and comprehensive programs in basic life science fields. This course is organized in the following four specific education fields and two coordinated fields to promote a comprehensive education.
