¡ Research Contents
In order to address the question why living things show such a great diversity in morphology and behavior, we have two approaches: one is to look into mechanisms underlying and the other is to understand functions. Our researches mainly focus on the latter, and investigate behavioral ecology of passerine birds (mainly Estrildid finches) with particular interest in social communication, including courtship and parent-offspring interaction, reproduction, development and life history.
