Message from the Dean of the Graduate School of Life Science To Prevent the Spread of Infection of COVID-19【March 16】

March 16, 2022

To students in the Graduate School of Life Science, Hokkaido University

SATO Yoshihiro
Dean, Graduate School of Life Science

Thank you for all your cooperation to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.

Although the new academic year will start soon, we are not able to foresee when the pandemic will settle at this time. There is a report that the Omicron variant, which is the current focus of the main infection, is at low risk of becoming severe in young people. However, every person needs to realize again that our society, including those at high risk of serious illness, such as the elderly and those with the underlying conditions, is a society where diverse people live together. Please continue practicing infection prevention measures and do “not infected” and ”not transmit” as much as possible.

As to specific details of classes in the new academic year, etc., please follow the instructions of your supervisors.

We appreciate your continued understanding and cooperation to prevent the spread of infection such as wearing a mask, hand washing, avoiding the 3Cs (confined spaces/crowded places/close contact), and avoiding eating in large groups, etc. not only when you are on campus but also outside of the Campus.
