June 2, 2020

To students in the Graduate School of Life Science, Hokkaido University

Masakane Yamashita
Dean, Graduate School of Life Science

Hokkaido University has moved from Alert Level 3 (Restriction-Hight) to Alert Level 2 (Restriction-Medium) prescribed in the Hokkaido University Business Continuity Plan During Coronavirus Outbreak (BCP) as of June 1. https://www.global.hokudai.ac.jp/university-life/health-and-wellness/covid-19-health-alerts-and-advisories/
In response to Level 2, the Graduate School of Life Science has shown the measures in the message issued on April 14.

However, it was partly revised in accordance with the current situation. Please follow the instructions of your supervisors since the detailed information has been notified to the faculty.

Coronavirus infections with unconfirmed transmission routes still remain in Sapporo city even though the alert level has been reduced. In the future, I would like to balance the prevention of the spread of infection with the promotion of education and research.
I would like to ask for your continued understanding and cooperation on infection preventive measures, such as practicing hand hygiene and avoiding the 3Cs (Closed spaces, Crowded places and Close-contact settings).
